BIOGRAPHY
Gemological School of Florida (GSF) is a family-owned and operated company directed by licensed professionals Aura Godoy, B.S. and Fidel Orta Godoy, B.S.
Aura Godoy R. holds a degree in Chemistry from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, United States, and is a graduate gemologist from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) in Santa Monica, California, graduating in 1982. She has served as a gemology professor for the Gemological Society of Venezuela and various universities. Additionally, she founded and directed Muzo Gemologists Jewelers in Venezuela in 1970.
Aura Godoy has published numerous gemology articles in major Venezuelan newspapers and magazines since 1985 and is the author of the books: "Diamond Identification And Appraisal," published in 1993 with a second edition in 2005, available in both Spanish and English, as well as "El Maravilloso Mundo de las Piedras Preciosas" (The Wonderful World of Gemstones), published in the Spanish language in 2005. F. Orta Godoy is a historian and gemologist, also a graduate of the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) in Santa Monica, California, earning his gemology diploma in 2000, and a member of the National Association of Jewelry Appraisers.
F. Orta currently conducts jewelry evaluations and appraisals for international insurance adjusters firms and provides commercial consulting to various companies in the jewelry and gemstone cutting industry.
GSF was established to provide personalized service to clients requiring the highest level of advice and expertise in the study and evaluation of both cut and rough diamonds, as well as jewelry, gemology, appraisals, and other related services.
